Reliability issues
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm contemplating dipping my toe in the world of TVR, in particular, either a Tuscan 2 or possibly a Sagaris and was wondering if anyone could shed any light on reliability issues or elec faults with either of these cars. I tend to use my cars as everyday transport and would just like to allay my fears that these cars will noy let me down .... too much
Thanks in advance Dale

I had my Tuscan1 for 18months from spummer 2005. It was a 2001 model with engine rebuild in Dec 2003, I never had any problems.
The knew models from 2005 onwards seem very sorted with very, very few problems reported.
I wouldn't hesitate GO GET ONE.
I will again when I lose some points!!!.

I bought my Tuscan 2 new in March this year - so far it's done 6k miles, including track days and no major issues at all. Sure, the door switch doesn't always work, the gearlever unscrews a bit, the back window is already marked from where it rubs the roll-hoops with the roof down, but it's a fantastic beast of a car - get one!!!
Having said that, there are plenty of owners of earlier cars who have spent half their life in the garage.
My overall advice would be to get a mark 2, and all will be fine!!!
cheers,
Richard

I drove my Tuscan everyday for 4 years, and now my Tuscan 2 S everyday, now for 18 months. And trips to Le Mans and various track days.
For everday transport expect it to be off the road for a few days a year when it's serviced. The only time I nearly got stranded is when my clutch fingers broke at around 20k miles. Luckily there was enough life in the clutch to get it to the dealer straight away. I don't remember any particular electrical problems causing a problem.
Do it
Cheers,
Andy.
