you can, any TVR specialist will point you to their recommended bodyshop to do it. Might need a bit of paint around the lights as they are bonded in.

Yep they can, had a set fitted to my dipped beams when I first got the Tuscan.

Vast improvement can actually see to drive at night without using main beam.

Fernies fitted mine, IIRC no spraying was req'd.

You can do them yourself - it is a tight fit but simple to do.
I didn't have to do any paintwork either - you just need to be careful.

cool, I had always thought paintwork was involved, so now I know it's not, I might have to consider this myself!!

cheers

are the gas discharge the same as the MK2 units?

I am considering fitting gas discharge to the dip on my MK2 s

One of the courtesy tuscans I had (reflex charcoal, mk1s S6 TVR @ the time) had this and they were a great improvement

I am sure they are a "lucas" (or similar) unit and will be available cheaper than dealer price if you are DIY ing it

If you order a set of H7 HID's, they should fit in the existing light units.

I'll take pics when I fit them, as mine are arriving sometime soon...

Where can you get DIY kits?
Any idea how much? Sounds like a good idea

I purchased the kit from www.elise-shop.com, and got round to fitting them on Saturday morning.

Planned to but forgot to take pics, as it all went so smooth... in less than an hour I had them fitted.

Engine cover off, unscrew the plates over the lights, take out original bulb, wire up the HID's, unscrew the already present transfo (which you'll only have to do in case of HID main beam), fix the two transfos in a way that the cover plate goes back on, put everything back in place

Car looks even cooler now LOL

Just ordered a set for mine (Mk1 S) too. thumbup Does anybody have any pics of these fitted?

This conversion kit for "Aero" style wiper blades (much better than conventional wipers) looks like a very worthwhile upgrade. The wipers on a Tuscan aren't the greatest even with Bosch 21S wiper blades.

These guys also do LED replacement bulbs. Has anybody used these? They're a worthwhile safety upgrade for the brake lights at least.

passenger side fitted, driver side orignal. Pictures in daylight don't really do it justice but you can see why they are described as Daylight coloured. Visability when driving in the dark is a massive improvement

I was going to take internal pictures but there's not much to see other than a ballast and that looks almost identical to the one already there for main beam.

xenon bulb goes in directly in place original halogen bulb.

wires to original bulb connect via a short "loom" to the ballast.

two new wires connect from ballast to xenon bulb

Secure ballast.

Job's done.

Supplied instructions are cr@p. prety much had to work out what to do myself and this is what took most of the time(and getting the bonnet off).

There is a supplied relay to use if necessary. Instructions seem to say you need to use this if original supply is < 20amps. As the fuse box diagram shows a 20amp fuse I didn't bother.

No problems so far

Thanks for the pic and the info. They look great and I can well imagine the improvement at night.

Have you also changed your sidelight bulbs? The color on the HID side looks "whiter".

Anyone tried those aero style wipers yet.
They look alright.

I think I'm gonna order a pair of Aero wipers and see how they go. The OEM ones on the Merc work extremely well and are very quiet so expect I similar results on the Tiv.

It'll be a month or so before I'm home to get them fitted and tested though.

I think the passenger sidelight looks different because the sky is reflecting from it.

Drivers side no longer working mad lead fallen off input side unit, now secured using tie wrap (true TVR style)
