Hi all,the last couple of times that i have checked my oil there are lots of bubbles on the dip stick.Dont think its coolant because the oil is still completely clear and not milky, plus the car isnt using any coolant at all.Cannot be condensation because both times the car had been on quite a long run when checked and was well up to temp.I am still using fully synth shell as used at supplying dealer.
Any ideas,or is this normal.

I could be wrong but I think this could be considered "normal" if the car has been run for a while and got well up to operating temp - you did mention that it had been "hammered" so I reckon the oil just got really hot and frothy, that's all. Did you check it immediately after turning the engine off?

Thanks chaps.Yes i did check it immidiately after turning it off,i thought that if you leave it for a while you would loose the reading.I had just done 6 laps of bedford autodrome, although i did leave it idling for a few minutes before turning it off. Will try it under more normal conditions this weekend. The fact that you guys have experienced it aswell, puts my mind at rest.

I have a similar situation.
When I check it straight after driving, there are always a few bubbles in the hot oil.
It doesn't seem to be anythign untoward.
If there was a milky substance with bubbles then I'd be concerned (head gasket) but as this is not the case, just drive it as normal.

PS - I'm new to ownership as well so perhaps we are all wrong?? :P
