Depends on your mileage, but i would suggest you need a spare car just in case.

When I first started looking at TVR's the dealer actually asked if this was to be my only car. At the time it was and he strongly advised that a TVR wasn't an every day car.

I bought one some years later (as a second car) and mechancially I've never been let down, but in total it has spent about three or four weeks up at Harrogate (HHC) this year.

Just my thoughts, for what its worth (not much!).

10 month old Tuscan used every day 18,500 miles which includes lots of track days. It's never let me down.

I have one of the last Mk1s on 54 plate use it almost everyday backwards and forwards to work etc. Prior to that had a Y reg Tuscan - did the same.

No probs with either car

So I would say YES - it can be used as everyday car

Some people would argue that it is better to use the car daily.

Slightly different, but a mate of mine had a Griffith which he used everyday and covered almost 50,000miles in 2 years. Only let him down once, and it was something really silly that I can't even remember. He was commuting from Edinburgh to London.

If used daily they will probably give less troubles (apart from in the wallet from all of the fuel). My Tuscan 4.0 (51 plate) racks up 450 miles per week and has no issues whatsoever. My previous TVR (Chim 500) did about 15000 miles per year and again, never had any major issues (apart from a burst radiator, new battery and some tyres!!). Drive 'em and enjoy 'em.

Off the point a bit = but did you get your car from Henley TVR - if so i think it was the next on my list to look, but saw mine at Gatwick and had to have.

Got mine in June too, I f I had not have liked the one I eventually got, I was on my way to Henly to look at what has since become yours. I hope you got a good deal out of them. I seem to recall you had a bit of purple on the interior?

The colour Spectraflair is stunning !!!

Cheers

Nick
