Hi all

Just travelled back from Bournemouth to Leeds, after leaving a deposit and agreeing the purchase of a fantastic Tuscan 2001 in Reflex Green. I will be collecting the car on Sunday. Dam I will miss the Thunderball parade at Blackpool - still good enough excuse.

I currently have a Chimeara (perhaps should have thought of selling that first!) so I will be moving from the Chim section to the Tuscan section from now on.

2 quick questions.

1. Where can I buy new gearstick and handbrake gaiters in Portland Grey leather?
2. How easy is it to replace the front indicator lenses.

Any other advice greatly recieved.

Cheers

Hi Paul

Congratulations on the Tuscan, I did exactly the same as you when I upgraded and had to sell the Chim afterwards!

To answer your questions:-

1. Where can I buy new gearstick and handbrake gaiters in Portland Grey leather?

Try AJ's Trimming www.ajtrimming.co.uk who will make up anything you want. I've used him before and he's very good quality

2. How easy is it to replace the front indicator lenses.

Good question, I've been trying to replace mine for the last 12 months and haven't found anyone that stocks them. I think they stopped making them and looking at TVR's current problems it doesn't look like that will change. Having said that, I haven't enquired for the last 4 months, so it maybe worth trying TVR Power who have the parts franchise.

Have fun

Welcome my friend, welcome to the world of the speed six,to the paranoia that comes with it, to the world of specialist servicing££ , to the adoring stares of spotty school boys(and girls but less said about that) Welcome to brakes!, to organ displacing performance, bolted on bonnets, rear screens that you can see thro, dodgy electronic displays,..........Say goodbye forever to the growl of that V8,to those never been really quite big enough wheels,to that strange unlit no' plate. Goodbye to the old......Welcome my friend, welcome to the DARKSIDE. evil

gaitors: bot mine from Power

Can't remember where I got my clear lenses from. Think they're off a Griff. Dealer should know. ~GBP20. Hammer, smash out old ones. Silicone, glue in new ones! 20 mins.

Thanks for the advice.

Picked it up yesterday after a 270 mile drive from Leeds to Bournemouth. A straight turn around and then a solo drive all the way back. Got home at 11.00pm (sat nav said 11.45pm when I set off!!!)

Had to take the day off work today to get to know my new toy. Wow! what a beautifull special machine.

So looking forward to running it.

welcome to the Tuscan forum

David Gerald stocks the indicator but they are not cheap - approx £70 if you buy the official part. I think there is a cheaper landrover unit that will fit size wise but it is not type apporoved. i think it also depends if you want clear or orange. Mine are clear.

Also they are bonded in and apparently can be a bit of a bugger to release as not much space to work through the inspection hatch.

I have to change one of mine that is cracked - bought the part but have not got around to fitting.
