Exhaust notes from aftermarket cans
Discussion
Some opinions required please.
Considering changing the standard cans to Carbon Cans but we live on a camp in Siberia (I'm not joking) and the company e-mail does not allow streaming through the internet so I can't download the sound file from the CCC website.
I know to expect a louder exhaust note but does the sound change ie is it raspy and higher pitched or a deeper but louder note. It is more noticeable at low revs or throughout the whole rev range.
Any opinions would be welcome.

I would say slightly deeper and a lot more pops and bangs on overrun
all in all a very pleasant experience

Ditto that Nick. A deeper rumble with a raspy overtone that changes depending on the rev's. MUCH more pops, crackles and big bangs on the overrun too...

I heard andys above yesterday...first time i ever heard aftermarket cans (on a tuscan), needless to say i now have them on order - unbelievable difference, its not noticeably louder, probably only 10/15%, its the tone which is deeper and more 'burbly', but even more so is the over run, sounds unreal... and ive had many v twin superbikes which makes me a coinnesseur of exhaust notes!

I bought my Carbon Cans from an advert on ebay (they sell them direct on there cheaper than the website see http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl for current advert)
They are fantastic having come from a Chimaera I was disappointed with the lack of noise in the tuscan but these made a huge difference without being too loud. (Having said that I am booked in for a decat tomorrow as after 2 years I am now used to the pops & bangs & want more
)

Was someone here lucky enough to get these for GBP160!?!
I just missed out on those - bid them up to £155 but lost in the end - with 40 mins to go I had the best bid of £110! Thought my luck was in!
Richard.
Hi Richard,
They were mine, I thought I might get more than that for them. Oh well!
I can’t believe how civilised it sounds now with a new set of the standard cans back on the car.
I was thinking of putting the car on ebay today as it’s going at the end of the month, but I have had a pretty good trade in offer (£20K) so I don’t think it’s worth listing it?
And that concludes a year of my first ever TVR, and what a year it was (highs?) The Furball Alpine run, the workers support rally (Clip on BBC NorthWest), London thunder & several trips to Blackpool.
(Lows?) Blowing the engine on the Furball alpine run & several trips to Blackpool (Half the car has been replaced in the last year)!
Owning a TVR should be a must do in the 100 things to do before you die list, even if only for a year. I’m gonna see what it’s like living with a prancing horse for the next year.
Perhaps I will return one day?
