seem to of developed loose steering, doesn't feel accurate enough, keep correcting, worries me at fast speed - does this sound ominous? (tuscan mk1 40k on the clock).

Sounds like my old Griff when the front wishbone bushes had worn out. Get it looked at asap if you ask me!

Bushes were cheap, labour was expensive! Can't remember how much, but a couple of hundred quid at least.

It could be something much simpler, as you say, like alignment, or even worn front tyres. Check the inside edge of the tread - mine wore very quickly due to the Tuscan running quite a lot of negative camber on the front, leading to scary tramlining and vague steering response; wouldn't have called it loose though.

A decent specialist will pop it on the ramps and spot anything obviously worn or broken very quickly. If there's nothing obvious, get the alignment done. In the home counties, Racing Green are highly thought of for setup, and I've never had anything but great service from Fernhurst.

Good luck!
