New Tuscan S - should I go for it?

Been offered a good deal on a new Tuscan S - it's in the spec I've been looking for and the price has been discounted.

I'm still a bit uncomfortable about the basics of part supply and honouring of warranty though - especially when commiting £40K+ to a new car.

How does everybody else feel about this at the moment? Apparently another announcement about warranties will be made next week.

There was a time when you would think twice about buying a car with dodgy build quality from a factory which had shut down and may or may not reopen. if it does it will probably be with newer/better products. I hope that its been heavily discounted.

Been assured from the dealer that the Tuscan will come with a valid 3 year warranty no matter what may come of TVRs warranty and also that parts supply has been transferred to TVR Power therefore supply won't be a problem.

The deal is a good one - just need to make up my mind !

You mention 40k +.... therefore it has NOT been heavily discounted...

Didn't TVR put all the prices up a little while ago. Has it been 'discounted' back to the old one...

Make then an offer 10K less than the price they want,,,, nebver know they might want to get shot of it...

GEt the warranty promise, explained in detail (WHO, pabacked by insurance, terms, etc) and comfirmed in writing before you even put a deposit down.

Its S spec and therefore would retail at £52k ish so £40k ish is a huge discount.

If the dealer is promising you a 3 year warranty ask him to underwrite it personally in the event that TVR do not.

Where else will you get a SUPERCAR in the spec you want for around £40,000
And a note to the CARDAGAN KID i have done 10,000 miles in mine in a year with no build or engine problems at all. (Maybe i am just lucky)

Dealers can go bust to... insurance backed policy is safer...

Not to say this dealer will go bust or is likely to, just times are hard for tvr dealers

Paul aka unrepentant is correct re price. Our dealer has a new "S" spec Tusc up for £52,000 so £40.000 or thereabouts with a bullet proof warranty is a good deal. From your profile you are not new to TVR's or Tuscans so you would be familiar with the various issues which may occur.
I confess with residuals and all the uncertainty surrounding TVR as at the present time, if I was contemplating a new car I wouldnt pay the advertised showroom price.

London Group on Park Lane have a Tuscan S Convertible 55 Plate in Reflex Charcoal with Ocean Green Hide, Tracker, Satellite Navigation and DVD with 2,700 miles and 1 Owner for £40,995.00. I was in there Saturday morning talking to the Sales Manager, he was offering 2 years warranty with the car.

Sounds like a blinding deal, not even run in. Didn't have the heart to tell him I could not afford it!
