Dunno if i am being incredibly thick but how do you get the 2 pins out, the ones nearest the windscreen?

I see theres a proged tool in the toolkit but what are you supposed to do with it?

there is a spring mounted collar that stops the ball joint from popping out. push collar towards you (away from car centre line) and the bonnett should pop up

do you use the pronged end or the other one?
tried pushing it out the way (away from the engine) with no luck, seemed totally stuck?!

pronged end, it should not be too hard to push, at the same time lift the bonnet gently if it is not popping out the socket.

give it a squirt of WD40?

i dont have a specific tool, and use a bike tyre lever

It's not in the engine bay ..well done for getting the bonnet off

Its in the passenger footwell. You need to take the N/S front wheel off and there is an access hatch in the body work

Make sure you reseal the cover plate up well when refitting

ok so another quick question, is there another way to disconnect it, ie to reset the ecu...

NO need to bother with ECU.. just make sure you leave one of the doors open ..remove old bat.. fit new ...

Job done...

Easy..Well thats the way it should go.. be prepared for rounded bolts be careful when removing the cover plate .

Battery terminals glued on etc:heheh:

all i am trying to do is disconnect the battery to see if it cures an AFI fault
