Can anyone help me with this.

I am trying to remove the radio pod from my year 2k 4.0.
I understand that I need to remove the centre tunnel cover, by releasing the front and rear fixings. I have located both the fixing bolts (under the ashtray & under the rear air vent) but the rear one just turns round.
I need to get a spanner on the (supposedly captive)nut on the underside!

Does anyone know if this nut is accesible from underneath the car, without having to remove anything else major?

Also does anyone have, or know where I can get one of the long threaded extension pieces that passes up inside the old style radio pod, at the side of the radio, and secures the facia?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Andrew

Erm don't know about anyone else's but on mine it's just a self tapping screw, try pulling the console up gently whilst undoing the screw, that should shift it.

I don't think you will be able to get to the nut from underneath as you have both exhausts and a drive shaft running through the tunnel. I do have a spare long threaded bolt that fits down the side of the radio as i have fitted the new style radio pod in mine. If your not in a rush for it i can probably get it in a couple of weeks. Has anyone else removed this rear fixing - mine is a 13mm hex head (gr8.8) tensile bolt and washer - I suppose it could be a coarse threaded screw!

Thanks
