330 mk/h in my Tuscan S
Discussion
I don't understand so please correct me if I misunderstood your post...
Someone in another car told you how fast you were travelling without any professional equipment to measure accurately, and they weren't even going at the same speed?
However, 330 km/h = 204.93mph - if so then that's 'pretty good'
. I take it your car also isn't standard? I may have to step up my process of getting me a Tuscan!!

A bit more than 'pretty good' I reckon!
Mine made 179.6mph @ the rev limiter in 5th on a very accurate rolling road a while back.
The analogue speedo was showing just over 200mph......
Unless you have ridiculously oversized tyres fitted, I reckon your mate needs to buy himself a decent GPS.....

It was a very un professional measure, I was following a Gallardo at top speed, i overtook him, he had 330 at his speedo, I flew away then my speedo was giving 304 km/h near rev limiter.
My car is genuine except for the exhaust...it really goes well.
Later on the day we were on the HTTT for a private track day and it was in the top 10 of the top speed in the Mistral lane.
That car is fantastic....it is a TVR!

The Tuscan S has different gear ratios so a higher top speed is entirely possible, though 200+ mph is unlikely. TVR's official figures say 195+ mph....but we all know about official TVR figures.

I think that the CR boxes went into what ever was on the line at the time. Mine was a standard Tuscan but has had all the extras done including an S spec engine fitted but as far as i know its still the original box. It goes around 60 in first 100 in second and when you look at the revs it would be possible to do 200+ before you hit the limiter and this is with road angel speed showing. I think the top speed should of been put down to 160+ cos no ones really knows what that particular car will do.

Only the first three gears of the close ratio gearbox are different to the standard one fourth & fifth are the same. The difference is usually the differential ratio, which can vary dependant what was around at the time of build.
The S also has a LSD which may have a different ratio to the standard diff?
I've done 176 (GPS) in mine and it was still going strong. Didn't get a chance to note the revs though.
I borrowed a Tomtom a while ago to get some accurate readings - the Tomtom wouldn't read over 125mph, which was a bit disappointing.
At 120mph, the speedo was only about over-reading by around 1mph, so much more accurate than I'd expected.
Fastest I've seen on the speedo was 155 - the car had plenty more to come, but other traffic appeared ahead so I had to back off.
Has anyone taken a Tuscan to a Vmax?

178, although Ed later claims it was 179
Hopefully the video still works.
I want to VMax my MkII S to see if the faired in headlights make it any quicker.

Mine (Red Rose) did 203mph on a rolling road.
Didn't have the time yet to go to Germany to find out if it's true... and can't now as, well... it's broken

Well cool.
According to my ferrari friend we got to 175mph plus in Europe last year but still not quite Vmax I'm afraid.
I admit that I was to busy to look at the speedo et al but certainly I found that after 150 mph my wipers were way out ahead of me - Is this a common fault with windscreen wipers lifting off or did you tape yours down?
Your digital screen in the centre of your pod contains a 'max' memory and holds max temp's,revs, pressure's and speed acheived, can be brought up by holding in both the Fog light switch and the Display function button until screen show's setup then scroll with the function button till you get to max's. no more actual speed plus 10 bragging i'm afraid

Also fairly unreliable, given the propensity of TVR speedos to act up. I was sat at the lights in Harrogate once in my Mk 1 Tuscan and the speedo was reading 203 mph!

Thanks for this had car from new no rolling or track day - checked it out on run today and max speed reads 226 mph
