Since I fitted my Carbon Cans, I've been getting a sort of constant, high-pitched 'tweetering' sound from the exhausts. You can only hear it at idle/low revs (at higher revs, the bass noises take over), but it pretty annoying and very noticeable in slow moving traffic. I thought it might be exhaust gases escaping through a small leak somewhere, but I have tightened up the mounting brackets to no avail.

Any ideas? (I don't want to sound like a VW Beetle anymore!)

I hear exactly the same, especially idling next to a wall or other traffic. I suspect it's just one of those exhaust noises that are normally muffled by the perforations in the standard cans. The CCC cans seem to amplify it, along with all the other pops, bangs and crackles...

I only get the deep rumble at what ever revs. It has the s exhaust on though. This might have something to do with it.

Did you use exhaust assembly paste?.

I did with mine, and there are only the best sounds from the cans.

I didn't and wondered if I should have done - but won't it make taking them off again difficult?

do yours have removable baffles/db killers? I used to have one on my bike and with the baffle removed there was a small hole where the retaining bolt fitted. As the exhaust blew out across the hole it made a little birdie cheep type whistling noise! Could that be it?

Sounds like assembly paste is the solution.

My old ones were fitted with assembly paste and the advice for removing them fro the CCC was to soak them with WD40 the night before. I followed their advice and in the morning after loosening the bolt they just pulled off with no bother.

Thanks for all the advice - I've ordered some paste and I'll give it a go at the weekend.
