Good to meet and catch up Mani and thanks for the kind words. Indeed good to share experiences and fascinating about your TVR work experiences. Lovely car, and your ownership proves that just because a car was a press car doesn't necessarily mean it is going to be troublesome/was ragged to death.

And...get some Carbon Cans.....

Not good Lee. I suppose it's better that you didn't get it, knowing going down a motorway and the speedo stops working yikes

Lee - I would not be too bothered given the market. Simply take your time and you will be rewarded. As regards the speedo, it could have been a loose transducer which is repairable for app £82, but I can see how it would have been a major put off!

Also I had to drive it 3 hours back home not knowing what speed i was doing!

Whats the chances of me going too fast not noticing and loosing my licence!

I'm thinking I should spend more money and get one from a dealer with warrenty! prob safer bet, and peice of mind!

Not a bad call, and this will give you time to get a feel for several as often, each drives differently. I purchased mine privately after spending months looking, but would personally not do so again for a variety of reasons. Remember on the warranty front, it will often be the 1 yr "TVR Approved" warranty through Auto-protect. It is app £1,300, plus a £100/200 check, and finally the cost of any remedial work (which could be done as part of the purchase price?). Recommend Racing Green from personal experience, and they are close to you as well.
