hello, i bought a pair of carbon cans the other day from ebay and waited til w/e to fit them. the left side was easy. 10 mins and a 10mil spanner. the right side took 3 hours. I took the bracket off applied lots of wd40, cursed alot hit it with a club hammer several times, and recieved lots of blisters. nothing. didn't move at all so I gave up. sob. i really wanted to take them for a spin in this glorious weather. anybody have any ideas or should i just take it to a garage and get it up on a ramp?
any ideas before i have to shell out to mechanic?
Thanks and Regards, Theo.

Hi,

You might want to check if your original can has been riveted on.....can be tricky sometimes spotting the rivet but can explain that "why wont it come off?!" feeling

With my last Tuscan I spent 3 hrs or more nuckle grazing. Then took it to an Indy garage round the corner. The guy had all the right gear and it was done in about 10mins.

He charged me £5 - wanst really worth me pratting around at that price.

Good luck

Same here. Tried for 20 mins, didn't get anywhere. £5 and 10 mins later down the local exhaust centre all was done.

I used a heat gun and a hammer, which failed miserably. So I took it power who did them with a service. By the looks of it they were cut before pulling off.

me too....mine was almost welded on. took it to an independent exhaust place, took him 30 mins with the aid of oxy/acetylne bottle. £30 cash !! well worth it
