Don't bother it wont bump start.

Take the passenger side front wheel off to the back of the arch there are a couple of bolt undo those and the battery is kept there.

If i remember rightly you aren't supposed to bump start any car with cats.

I have tried bump starting the Tuscan when it was flat but nearly killed three of my work colleagues with exhaustion and gave up, called the AA and they had the right lead to start it. Best thing is get yourself a jumpstart lead (Leven do them) and then you just plug it in (there's a plug facing downwards behind the battery compartment) and jump it off another car. No trauma, no bolts to undo, just make sure the other car is a big enough beastie. I have jump started mine from a 1.3 Ford Ka but my wife had to rev the bo**ocks off it to stop it from stalling just trying to turn the Tusc's engine over. laugh

I have posted this in your other post in the General forum also.

The battery connection point is under the car just behind the front near side wheel arch.

If you do not have TVR jump leads, use ordinary jump leads and make the connection with screwdrivers inserted into the connector terminals.

USE A MULTIMETER TO FIND WHICH IS THE POSITIVE AND WHICH IS THE EARTH FIRST!

Sorry can not remember which way around they are.

I think that's an old wives tale. The cats can't tell whether the engine is being turned over by the starter motor or the back wheels, and neither can anything else.

Ours was piss easy to start when the battery died, maybe it's just different cars?

Nah! They'll get exhausted far too quickly.

You'd be better off with horses or elephants.....

You can get tvr jump leads off ebay, use them on mine to trinkle charge the battery during the winter and there always handy to have if you do get a flat battery situation.

What would happen if you used normal leads?

you can use normal leads but it is quite tricky trying to get onto the terminals. The proper tvr leads plug into a remote take off point just behind the front wheel which means its a 5 second job to take the cover off and plug them in.
