I shall shortly be looking to replace some tyres for my Tuscan S. I currently run Toyo Proxes T1S's but am having difficulty locating any, these are they tyres which were one the car when I purchased it. Has anyone tried the Toyo Proxes T1R's? How do they compare? Alternatively can anyone recommend other makes?

Cheers

I have just ordered Toyo Proxes T1R's through blackcircles, they also stock T1S's although I understand the R replaces the S. The R is alos about £20 cheaper per corner.

I managed to get hold of 255 35's for the rear a few months ago and they seem to be still selliing the toyo at 80 quid!! 10 quid delivery is reduced when you buy more than 1 tyre. Might be worth a look.

I've just replaced my rear 255/35 Toyos on my 02 Tuscan S with 255/40 Goodyear F1's. Absolutely huge improvement in grip & allround handling for general road use.

When my rears had to be replaced (26 December, shredded tyre wall), I couldn't get hold of T1R's (still on at the front now).

All that was available in te required speed rating/sizes were Michelin Sport (SP2 I believe). Didn't like them at first, but they're IMO better than the Toyo's, once run in (3-400 miles). Then again, toyo's don't sell at nearly £250 a piece I guess...
