Do Tuscan's (MK1) need an engine rebuild at a certain mileage? If so, what mileage is typical or when should you look out for to determine if it needs one or not?

No definite nnumber of mileage as to when you'll need a rebuild. All I can say is you'll hear when you're in for one, as I found out very recently...

That sounds inteersting. Expecting that I'll need one one day, just as a tip were there any warning signs before and what happens when it does go?

Mine went at 24k and needed a full rebuild from TVR Power. Lots of missfire, followed by stall then dead, all within a matter of seconds. No warning up until that point though.

Interestingly, I see Power are now providing a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on re-builds.

Mine went at 20,000 miles. No real warning, was serviced 4 months before. I wish I had bought one with a recent rebuild with hindsight....... shoot

Mine came in at £6k for too many things to list. Luckily warranty covered 50%. When buying the car I budgeted £3k for a top end re-build at some point, so not the best thing to happen, but in my mind £3k for a (hopefully) far more reliable 2006 spec engine is not too bad a deal.

We'll wait and see!
