More Tuscan 2 questions
Discussion
Been doing a bit more research and the price differential between a 3.6 Mk2 and a 4.0S seems to be just a couple of grand, so the hunt is now on for an S.
A few questions have poped up.
- Is the manufacturers warranty still paying out?
- Any recomendations on who's extended warranty to buy?
- Roughly how much are replacement tires?
- Is the sterio any good, I'm wondering whether to replace it with a combined sat nav unit?
- Any views on Castle TVR as a dealer?
I got a quote from Admiral's multi car insurance this morning and to insure a Tuscan S, Cayenne S and an A4 estate costs slightly less than what I'm paying on my current Boster.
Thanks,
Phil

Most dealers I have tried are no longer supporting the manufactures 3 year warranty, I have been advised to keep any receipts for parts & labour that are required incase the warranty starts up again.
TVR dealers will offer extended warranties.
255/35/18 Goodyears are approximately £130
On the later MK2's with the convertible dash, the standard stereo is an Alpine MP3 player which with the standard six speaker installation is actually quiet good, even the radio works well.
I have had no dealings with Castles so can't comment.
forget the warranty, it may come back but it's unlikely so it's best to assume it's gone and use it to negotiate a better deal, ie getting a couple of grand off so you can go and buy your own warranty.
i have found insurance on TVRs to be amazingly cheap considering their performance and engine size. I paid a lot more to insure my Honda S2000 for example.
The tuscan 2 is many times the car the excellent honda was. While I'm sure the Boxster is a superb car for most people, a truly scintillating drive awaits those brave enough to stray from the norm and go for the Tuscan. And with the weather these days the roof will be off most of the time.
