anybody got bilstien shocks on a MK2
Discussion
Are your current shocks not Bilstein?
The Bilstein set up on my 2006 Tuscan 2S Targa is very good and I belive this is the one TVR Power/TVR dealers are selling.I even sold my Nitrons that had been on my previous Tuscan as I considered them not necessary.
Although one plus point with Nitrons is you can have them re-built.

My Tuscan two came with Bilstiens from new. After 2 months I binned them as they kept trying to kill me. Went for the Nitron upgrade and havn't looked back since.
Your car was delivered same week as mine,we went on the factory tour together.
When i finally got the engine run in and was able to drive the car properly it handled like a shopping trolley. Massive understeer!!
I considered Nitrons. On the first service DM changed all the suspension settings now handles really well. Apparently the factory were not using MK2 settings.
My advise would be to have the settings checked before you spend your money. For road use the bilstiens are fine

Hi Lee, Had all the settings checked and adjusted at the 1000 mile service which improved things slightly. Problem I had was, when cornering on a slightly uneven surface, the car would tend to "bounce" towards the kerb. Not a nice feeling so they had to go.
How's your car running? Mine has just had its 18,000 miles service at Power and is just getting stronger and stronger.
I tend to agree with Dave, regarding the 'bounce' towards the kerb. It's given me a couple of scares, it must be those Peak District roads!!!. I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on Bilstiens vs Nitrons vs Ohlins, but I an really keen to get the geometry properly laser checked. I went to a presentation by Center Gravity (yes American spelling), and saw their kit, looked impressive but as I said I'm no expert, but know I don't want to finish up in a ditch. They would charge about £70, if we could get about 10 Club members to get their cars calibrated together, that would not include any adjustments.
