Gear Knob ????????????

Ive just bought a new gear stick knob off e bay for my tuscan, its an orignal round tvr knob ( same one as orignal but not marked or scratched as mine is )does anyone know how to replace them before i have a go.

Slacken the collar under the gear knob and then unscrew the gear knob, sounds easy unless someone has used locktight on it.
