Snap! had exactly the same dilemma last year, swapped my TT for a tuscan and was worried about the weather. I did have a leak from the bottom of the windscreen, got that fixed and it is now fine, no leaks at all. But one tip I can offer is snow - if snow builds up it gets in all the cracks then melts and gets everywhere. So a winter coat is defo in order
Mine lives on the street and leaks but I have largely solved that problem with a cheap car cover from Halfords (£45). This has the added bonus of keeping the birds residue off it as well as keeping it away from the prying eyes of the local teenage population, as well as minimising the issues directly related to other peoples inability to park !

if its left out side like my car was for a few months the rain will get in from the back window and the side windows????
Not a problem if you get one with a larger rear screen.
I've never as much as seen a drop in mine unless I blast it with the hose. Much better than my old canvass roof bimmer which leaked like a seive.
You can always get the seals replaced in the roof if you are worried.

This has probably been covered before, but i'm gonna ask anyway... What's the best reasonably priced cover to get? Is the Halfords one lined with something soft and up to the job?
I went the route of a high quality cover as mine is on the street/outside all the time. Covercraft weathershield not cheap at £300, but the company have been excellent, helping with repair patches, parking permit/tax "windows" and general guidance. 2 yrs later, the cover still works as intended and generally only needs cleaning once a month or so. It is breathable, non-scratching (not something cheaper covers will be able to offer), mitigates any leak issues, tough to the elements and avoids the grime/gunk building up. Loads of posts on car covers but this one is worth the expenditure in my view.
Mine lives out on the street, I do have a car cover but have never used it as I've not got round to putting the "Windows" in for tax and parking permit. Did have a couple of leakes around the side windows which have now been fixed. My only regret is that other T**ts can't park and feel the need bump mine all the time.
Still my fault as not sorted the cover. I'd say from experience that the street is absolutely fine for leaving it out all year round. Just remember to check it if you're not driving daily as sometimes you only find that there is a leak after it's been stood a while with out being warmed through.
