Performance after sleeving exhausts
Discussion
I know that the issues of how to sleeve your exhausts, where to get the pipe from and what they sound like afterwards have been addressed here more than adequately, but has anyone got anything to say about performance and fuel consumption ? Not to mention passing emmission tests for MoT's.............
Not noticed any difference in performance, or fuel consumption after sleeving the rear cans on mine, it just sounds much much better.
I would have thought that the rear cans are too far down the system to have any real gains, or losses, and as they are beyond the cats and lambda sensors, they will have no effect at MOT time. Sleeving the exhaust and removing the pre-cats on my old Chimaera certainly didn't effect the MOT, so as long as you leave the cats in on the Tuscan, it'll not effect the results.
O/A it's a really easy mod....

Just to finish the story:
I went back to a thread with the details of what to get and from where. 10 minutes later I had ordered my £17 worth of pipe (plus P&P). It arrived in a tube which sat for a couple of days whilst I planned my assualt. Today I thought I had better get on with it.
10 minutes later I had finish ! Cut the tube into 3 bits (2 the right size and a spare bit), cleaned the burrs off, put a bit of 3-in-1 round the end and hammered in in with a rubber mallet !
I thought I had better make sure it worked all right so I jumped in and fired it up...............F***ING HELL, what a fantastic noise. So cheap and so simple !
