I now have a garage for my toy and would like to connect up to a trickle charger. My dealer kindly supplied me with an Accumate and various leads (no cigarette lighter one though).

Can anybody tell me if the later model Tuscans have the cigarette lighter wired correctly, i.e. live even when the ignition is off? I guess I just have to connect something up to it and see :-)

Also, I would rather not have to hang wires out the window so what "permanent" solutions are available?

There is a connector behind the front near side wheel. There is a special adaptor which is commonly used.

You will get ticked off climbing down by the wheel arch connecting it up if you are anything like me. The cigar lighter is the easiest route but as you have the anderson connector try that first and see if you are happy.

indeed, just route the wire through the top of the window rubber seals as it closes, it will not damage anything and lots lots lots easier...!

I agree that the easiest option is the cigarette lighter and run the cable through the window, so it may be worthwhile buying one.

Take it from me scrabbling round on a cold wet garage floor rapidly looses it's appeal

Castle TVR wired up an accumate to sit in my boot (on the shelf under the cover). Works fine for me - I just plug it in and rest the boot on the wire with no problems. If you go this route, don't forget to unplug the light in the boot however....
