Newbie - Tuscan Resto (Wiring diagram + Elec Info req'd)
Discussion
Hi All, I'm new to this forum, but I'm a very keen TVR DIY'er so I'm sure I will fit in okay with like-minded folk!
I purchased my 'restoration project' 2000 / W Tuscan Mk1 earlier in the year, I knew it would be interior and exterior restoration, but wasn't expecting a complete engine rebuild for good measure through water having made its way into cylinders 2&5 and requiring new liners. Wind forwards 6 months and I've completely rebuilt the engine with help from Dom at Powers, no expense spared and it, plus the gearbox are now reinstalled.
I also have a Carl Baker alarm to install, and have spoken to him to temporarily bypass the immobilizer before completing the new alarm install. So in my mind there shouldn't be a reason why I shouldn't be able to energise the pump?
However, never having had opportunity to test anything electrical before I stripped it and now the engine is back in, I'm keen to run the fuel pump as a check, plus to help drain any fuel left in the tank etc. I've removed the pump from the car and confirmed it is actually still alive, but back in the car, turn the ignition on and I'm expecting the pump to run for 5secs to prime, but nothing. The other thing to mention is that I currently don't have the engine bay harness plugged in (haven't got to that point yet), would that be a reason?
Would anyone have a wiring diagram? Without one its all the more difficult to diagnose. Any and all help welcome. I'll post some pictures up when I get 5mins - thanks in advance!

Thanks for the links. I had stumbled over these, but I was looking for a diagram similar to the one available for the Chimera / Griffith which was more of a schematic. Maybe one doesn't exist?!
In my nearly 17 years of ownership of my '04 Tuscan, that's the sum of the electrical info I've gathered. If you're a TVRCC member, the "Sagaris Manual" is available for free to members.
Whilst not a full workshop manual there is a lot of relavent stuff relating to the drive train that is helpful.

A thought to bear in mind on T car fuel pumps, is that the early system/wiring has a 6 (black) pin relay and later cars have a 5 pin (brown) and that as some point the wiring changes to power through the cut-out switch to earth-out of the relay via the cut-out switch.
It might relate to outside the tank pump and inside the tank pumps (I have not looked any deeper as my Tamora is twin pump in the tank with the brown relay). A@
