Rear window clips
Discussion
The plastic ones are like rocking horse poo to find. May be an idea to be looking for the metal ones. Raceproved, TVR Power, Clever Trevor etc.

I'll be using the plastic ones as the initial model as I haven't got any stainless one,
The originals are screws, but the others are bolted. Bolts then?

I have the Raceproved ones on my car if you want to look at them (I think they are aluminium rather than stainless (could be wrong). Bolts are best IMO and easy to fit, took me only 5 mins per side.
The bigger question is how do you keep the clips closed, mine have allen headed set screws which need an allen key which is slow(I use a flexible shaft screwdriver for speed) or a version of the turn lock used by the plastic ones.

Bolts sound good although I'm not sure how they are fixed. Can you access the back from the boot?
Yes, at least in mine you can, just reach up with your fingers from the boot and you will feel the ends of the self tappers that are there at the moment, so its straightforward to drill the hole slightly larger and then bolt throughI would be interested too.
Doesnt necessarily need to be bolted, the current design is adequate, could do with a little beefing up though, its too fragile. Stainless would be my preference, may be easier to work with than aluminium? Depends how you are making them.
If going down the bolt route it needs to be something quick and easy - a blind mounted nut of some kind so its still an easy operation to unclip them...

I found with stiffer clips the current self tappers are not strong enough and the shape of the screen starts to twist the fitting thus loosening the self tappers. Bolting through sorted this.Doesnt necessarily need to be bolted, the current design is adequate, could do with a little beefing up though, its too fragile.
