My Windows open about 50% before opening the door. The door only 1/2 pops open unless you pull at the same time.

Also can't work out how the window switches should actually work?
1. Turning the switches opens or closes the windows in stages at about 20% at a time.
2. Pushing the window dials does absolutely nothing.

Does this sound right? Seems a bit clunky to me.

I don't have a Tuscan anymore(great car though) but I'm sure my window only droped an inch or two then the door popped open without me having to pull it, and it's the same on my current car, Cerbera SP6. Looks like it might need some adjustment.

Thought that might be the case, doesn't seem right
I presume these things are programable somehow? Anyone got any instructions?

Dropping about half way is the norm. Them not popping open is down to the doors dropping slightly on their hinges and biding on the bodywork. Easy adjustment. Also can be due to the lock mechanism and hinges needing a bit of lube.

On the very first cars the window knobs were also the door open buttons when pressed. Problem was it was too easy to accidentally knock them with your knee or whatever so TVR disabled the function and added the buttons either side of the radio pod instead. TVR R&D at it's best smile

Oh and turning the knobs to open the windows in increments is just how they work. One touch up/down, just quickly turn the knob a load of clicks whichever way you want the windows to go. Actually works well once you're used to it.

Mine drop about 1/3 to half way on opening but each click on the controls is about 3/4 of an inch or so.

The doors not popping open is also a sign of tired door seals, as the spring in the seals is the thing that pushes the door.

That is exactly the case with my car. I was going to make the same comments about the seals too

Thanks for the info. I guess it's another of those tvr quirks.

Anyone know if you can program the windows drop distance? I think a 1 inch drop would be more than sufficient.

Agree with everything said, door drops to clear the a pillar, not programmable as the door controller is a PIC controller built by TVR, the window encoder counts the number of revolutions and drops the window accordingly.

The door buttons were moved as clumsy passengers tended to open the doors at speed when messing with the windows, in hindsight they could have added a speed signal that stopped the doors opening when moving.

Door seals create the ping on release and deform over time.
