Digital speedo reading low

As title really,the lcd display speed is miles out in comparison to the normal one,any ideas? If it was the sender i would imagine neither would work or do they have independant sources?

Sounds similar to mine,it was the stepper motor. I sent mine off to Cath Mason to be repaired.

The cost was £107 plus £15 postage. I think it took a week.
