Rear Window Clips
Discussion
Hi All.
I know there are several threads about these already so I will keep it brief!
I snapped one of my original plastic clips a couple of months back and as I rarely drove with the window in place, never got around to replacing it. Then, the car was in having some paint sorted after some **** drove into it in a carpark and drove off (but thats another story!) and the guy repairing it very kindly fabricated me some new metal ones.
They are so much better than the standard ones and I can vouch that they do keep the screen well and truly in place at speed, even with the window open etc. Not tried with the roof off and window in but I'm sure they'd be ok (It just seems a bit daft to risk it!).
If anyone is still after some, drop Phil a line at P R Wood Motor Bodies (01702 337 735). He has said he would be more than happy to produce these for people either as a one off or bulk buy.
I have nothing but praise for both Phil and his team as they did a fantastic job on the bodywork and new clutch that was fitted. He is also a very honest guy who is a massive TVR enthusiast.
I only have a rubbish pic taken from my phone so will pop some better ones up tonight.

Hi guys, sorry for the late reply, I had to go away for work.
They fit with allen bolts and are definitely way more substantial than standard ones.
As for price, I can't remember exactly how much he said but was definitely less than seventy pounds. Just give Phil a call and see what he'll do them for. I told him how much the others were available for and he said he would definitely make them for considerably less!
I'll try and get the better pics up today.

Just thought i would report back haveing phoned Phil - unfortunately his price has gone up. He now wants £80 for a set of these, which is fine i guess as thats around the same as the competition at £78 (through raceproved who apparently have stock again).
I am going to make my own...i cant help but feel its over the top. If i am successful i may offer a group buy myself!!!

No offence to the many who have manufactured versions of these and sold them to help us, but I wish someone would make some really nice ones. Like the originals but machined out of an aluminium block, with rubber covering on window side, with a stainless folding key operating a secure quarter turn release mechanism. I whizz my rear window out often and can't faff around with a bolt and allen key when it pours with rain... ;-)
