Brake Caliper rebuild
Discussion
Hi all, looking for some help.
At the Hilton and Moss open day on Saturday I got my Tuscan up on the ramps and the chassis was great, but the brakes needs some work.
The brakes have always been a bit wooden (little pedal movement but not as much stopping power as I expected) but the discs were flat and clean, indicating that the pads were making good clean contact with the discs - I just put it down to the EBC redstuff pads never getting hot enough. It wears larger discs judging by the extra spacers between caliper and upright and has the earlier CP5200 rather than CP6600 calipers.
Up on the ramps, it was clear that things were not so good on the inside. The discs are not flat or clean, indicating a problem, my guess is that the pistons aren't moving (or only one is). Its a bit strange that it's on the inside of both, but it may just be that is where the road c**p collects.
And so to my question. Before I strip the calipers down,
- does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit from, or even part Nos for seals and pistons?
- Does anyone know the particular model reference of the caliper e.g. CP5200-XXX?
- has anyone else done this and know of any particular foibles?
I'll have to get the discs skimmed (should be enough metal as they are almost new) and I'll change the redstuff for something more road based (Ferodo or Mintex probably)
Thanks in advance

I spoke to Mark Goldswain at AP when I had mine rebuilt and needed parts. He was very helpful. I sent mine to God speed brakes who did the rebuild for £150 all in for the fronts. http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/~godspeed/cms.php?...
