Replacing door lock mechanism
Discussion
Just had the door seals replaced on my mk1 Tuscan. Everything fine until I was almost home from picking the car up. Then the drivers door started to ping open which is not what I want when travelling on the M6.
It looks as though the locking mechanism is worn & not holding the door now it has new seals. How easy is it to replace for someone who isn't mechanically minded? Are they easy to get hold of new or is it a trip to the salvagers?
I'd take it back to the Indy to get sorted but don't think it's wise to drive with an open door!
TIA

Although i've not had this problem i believe it can be caused by the emergency release handle being pulled out slightly, maybe it was knocked when changing the seals, try pushing it all the way back in, or as already suggested it may need lengthening/adjusting to take into account the new seals.
