While on my search for a Tuscan to export I looked at all options about doing a conversion from a RHD to a LHD, as I've read really isnt worth the extra hassle & need deep pockets as is $$$$.
I came across a LHD 04 Tuscan & is on sale for 30,000 Euros !!!
Surely buying a RHD Tuscan & doing the conversion wont cost anywhere near the difference. Average price of Tuscan with rebuild - £15K that leaves a difference of £11K
Is it worth possibly getting it converted?

I don't think the conversion is a good choice for your wallet.
There's the price of a TVR Tuscan RHD (and everybody will tell you that, the latter is the car, the better is for its reliability).
Then there are 10-15.000 euros for the conversion.
Then there are average costs for maintenance. I've been told that you should keep, as an average valutation, 1.500 - 2.000 euros each year for normal maintenance.
And there is the chance (with a Speed-6 engine it can happens) of an engine rebuild: and prices started from 6.000 euros.
Consider another aspect: in the REGISTER of TVR TUSCAN LHD of my blog, car n. 64 was a RHD Tuscan which was converted into LHD. Look at the position of gear lever and hand brake. It remained unchanged and in my opinion this is very uncofortable (but I don't know if this is a common layout of a conversion).
The last aspect: lookink at ads, in my personal opinion, it is easyer (when and if you'll be sick of your Tuscan) to sell a RHD Tuscan than a LHD one.
30.000 euros for an LHD, in my opinion, is a good price. Consider that a couple of years ago average prices of LHD Tuscans were 50.000 euros.
I see what you mean about the handbrake & gear lever, a bit annoying really & I'm sure it would eventually bug the life out of me. I don't understand why a new tunnel wasn't just fabricated, I can't imagine that it would be that difficult after doing a full conversion from RHD to LHD to fabricate it so that they would sit on the correct side.
I was just surprised at the difference between a RHD & a LHD, I would accept 6K Euro difference, but I suppose it's the rarity. Might look into buying a crashed one, seen a few on ebay then the additioanl cost of getting it repaired a converted then equal out.
Oh well more to think about

Green I understand that it wouldn't be 6K, the only reason I considering a LHD is that I may be moving to a new contract in the UAE and they don't let you import RHD cars, so was considering the purchase & the long term.RHD in Europe really doesn't bother me & isn't a problem but wouldn't want to buy a Tuscan & then 4 months down the line have to sell it again & possibly loose money on it.
I would appreciate any help / companies in the UK you can direct me towards about costs.

Nik, let me put it this way: The reason why they did not 'just fabricate a new tunnel' to get the handbrake/gear lever in the right position is the same reason why there can´t be a fixed price tag on such a conversion. Is it 'only' the steering wheel and the pedals that you´d like LHD? Maybe that´ll be the cheaper option, but quite likely you won't get your money back one day selling. Or is it the 'whole thing LHD', which means a body off job with a hell of a lot of major and minor works to to, depending also on the condition your car is in - for where do you stop then? Chassis refurb? Engine? Respray? If you want to go that way think about five digit numbers that could buy another good RHD. And think about a transport to germany...

Florian I don't know how bothered I would be with the handbrake, it's difficult to say without actually sitting in the car, but I suppose the cheaper option would be a better way for me to go as if I were to export to the UAE I doubt very much that I would bring it back to Europe.
So really the "cheap" way - steering rack & pedal box + wiring - any ideas on cost??

That dark blue one that was damaged very,very badly and was a totally destroyed
car in which a person died already !
Be careful, the car is already several years on the market.

Thanks for the heads up!! It is the dark blue Polish one.I really don't think I would buy a Tuscan except from the UK, people tend to take more care of their cars & are true enthusiasts. I would just stick with a RHD Tuscan, for me living in Europe it makes it something even more special, but hopefully in the next week or so I'll find out about my move to UAE so will see what I'll be buying car in which a person died already !
