How Many " Mk 3" Tuscans

I`m sure that this has been done before, but cannot get the search facility to work for me. I am just interested in how many late/mk3 tuscans were registered, both converts and Targas.
Other than the different (wavy) dash, what improvements were made over the tuscan2.
Cant answer any of your questions Nigel, but does this mean you are on the look out for yet another Tiv?Other than the different (wavy) dash, what improvements were made over the tuscan2.
There are a few 'Mk3 targas out there, seem to remember only about a dozen or so, there's one in the classifieds now: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3354372.htm

I have a MK3 S Targa delivered/registered July 2006 so not many built after that.
The wavy dash, along with electrical system's and up-dated Bilstein suspension were in the list of improvements.
Same here only with Anthracite alloys. The wavy dash, along with electrical system's and up-dated Bilstein suspension were in the list of improvements.
It's a nice feeling knowing your electrics work!

Here's the table that normally gets posted on these threads, although I can't remember where it came from, it seemed to be reasonably accurate.

From this it would suggest the maximum would be 23 (built in 2006), but it's likely that several of those had the older dash, so work downwards from there really!
For what it's worth... i love my mk2, and the pod dash works fine
Engine is buggered though!

Hi Nigel, asked the same question myself sometime ago:Other than the different (wavy) dash, what improvements were made over the tuscan2.

There's only ten targa's listed in the PH register:

I think mine is probably one of the first registered in 2005 (mid December), I don't know of any others registered in 2005, most were 2006, but would love to hear from some others registered in 2005.
See you Sunday if you're going to the meet.

There's no such thing as a Mk 3 really. As was said above, all the Convertibles had a wavy dash and were marketed by TVR as "Mark 2 Convertibles". As the Targas with the wavy dash were built at the same time, they are also Mark 2's (and were also marketed/sold as such at the time). The best way to look at it I is that the Mk2 Targa had an update half way through its production run, the wavy dash being the most notable change. Mk 2.1 and 2.2 perhaps?

If this is the case then why on the new TVR website does it show drawings of a new Tuscan with IV Tuscan written on the plate ?The best way to look at it I is that the Mk2 Targa had an update half way through its production run, the wavy dash being the most notable change. Mk 2.1 and 2.2 perhaps?

Once again this table is uploaded and it's misleading to say the least and is wrong with so many cars. In this case it shows only 83 convertibles when it's known there where 108 so it's all 'guesstimates' at bestFrom this it would suggest the maximum would be 23 (built in 2006), but it's likely that several of those had the older dash, so work downwards from there really!

Not true .... Convertibles were marketted as CONVERTIBLES ... because there never was a Convertible Mark 1... Wavy dash MK2 Targas were known in the factory as Mark3s... Change occurred about Sept 2005 when convertibles were launched.... Give away is the black light surround front and rear after Jan'06 "most(one exception I know but that's been written off)" light surrounds became body colour... As for numbers you got differing figures from TVR themselves when they were in business. The best way to look at it I is that the Mk2 Targa had an update half way through its production run, the wavy dash being the most notable change. Mk 2.1 and 2.2 perhaps?
