Flip bonnet mod gas struts specs?

and S&D continue to use them.... Can't remember exact spec. (SDSS-01 400Nm IIRC)and not easy to look at the car at the moment (it's put away for winter) but will find out if you can not work it out.
S&D put metal brackets to reinforce sides of the bonnet, variable pressure struts used so gas released to get minimum force to support the bonnet.
I also put one on my inspection bonnet and replaced the boot struts. The boot ones need to be strong... mine were OK until I parked on the hill at Chatsworth and the boot would not stay up, so had to replace with 650Nm ones (IIRC).

Thanks Glow worm - can you remember which stroke was used? there is a choice in this spec of 60, 100, 150 and 200!!!and S&D continue to use them.... Can't remember exact spec. These are the ones i've ordered for mine:
GSV6-200 Adjustable Force Gas Strut http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts/range/ad... so it's a starting length of 250mm, with a stroke of 200mm.
It also depends where you're planning to put them. I'm going to use the same location as seen here as I didn't want the strut to feel like it was in the way if I was doing any work in the engine bay.
Equally, I believe the S&D solution mounts them on top of the wheel arch and further up the bonnetwhich might give a little more stability if you have the bonnet raised.
Dimensions look pretty similar so a 250mm/450mm strut should be fine. As stated it needs to be an adjustable one that you can let the pressure out in order to get the right movement.

..... Yes I used SDSS-01-200 with 200mm stroke , if you include the ball socket ends total length is about 480 mm.
Mounts are into the wings above the wheel arches , about 2" rear of the middle bonnet bolts (which I still use , finger tight), just to pull the bonnet down flush.
Yes ..bonnet edges reinforced with steel angle brackets ... you can see the screws on the outside.
