ride heights for mk1
Discussion
Can't answer for thr ride heights - - but I'd like to know too, as I hope to be putting some new shocks & springs on mine soon.
But, reference your query regarding low front-v-high(er) back, I believe they were all set up like this, i.e. a 10/15 mm higher back end. Understand it's called 'rake' by those that know. I guess it's to compensate for squat under heavy acceleration.

Haha this the problem tho nick. Mine doesn't squat ! It just spins up the wheels ! It's unnerving and I'm sure ppl will say its regular for a Tuscan but I'm doing 80 mph on a dual carriage way in third and under acceleration it will spin up flash the change lights at me as the revs spin and scare me to death ! Iv had a 500 griff and a 4.5 cerb and this has never been so easy to do. I'm not trying to do it... It just is beautifully tuned but not set up for the power and it doesn't seem right
I have a totally standard 2003 tuscan mk1 sat in my workshop that has only done 18,000 miles and i have just measured the ride height for you and from the floor to the wheel arch the measurement's are 660mm front and 690mm on the rear. It does look high at the rear but that is how this particular car came out of the factory. I hope this is a help.

Think we've talked ourselves into giving ourselves a bit of a talking to then!!
When I bought my Mk.1 S, I remember James Agger saying take it easy - he took a Tamora down to LeMans that year and he said about lighting up the rears in 3rd....That's always stayed with me :-).

Have a good Christmas James, and a prosperous New Year!

all sorted..
turns out my front springs had gone saggy.... the front end was low and as such the rear looked high.
The difference in how the air was moving over the car coupled with the wallow the front end was experiencing led to my needing to chase the car across lanes to keep it on tarmac.
In Tvr literature it decribes the handling of a mk 1 tuscan as "extremely nervous" under these low front end settings.
On this occasion TVR were understated.

Funnily enough, my car was up with STR8Six end of November for a short service, MOT and new throttle bodies. Jason commented that the shock were marginal when I picked her up. I did a run over to Belgium and thought the ride was on the 'bouncy' side.
Bought some Gaz Gold PP's and new springs from a guy on here who had a brand new set for sale. What a difference, ride and handling is much better.
