I am currently having the car resprayed which has now thrown up a whole load of 'what if's'

Notice the front of a normal tuscan mk1 has the 3 lights down the front and then the little 10p sized side lights.
Well i noticed a couple of cars which have had the side lights removed and filled in- looks much cleaner imo. Spoke to the bodyshop who said that the lowest light actually has provision for a sidelight bulb so putting them in there and just filling the holes is easy as. Is this really the case? why doesn't everyone who has paint get them filled? Surely i cant be alone thinking it looks better

This very nice tuscan has the lights filled

secondly.
Rear lights. i thought about having the mk2 rears fitted, seems to cost about £200 for parts and then labour so around 500-600 all in.

Was quickly put off by someone though who told me its was a seriously hard job to get right and that the tuscan 2 actually has a totally different rear end?
Any thoughts on this? i really like the mk2 rears but not sure if i should bother if its going to come out not 100%
Surely its a case of offering the light lenses up to the bodywork until they fit the contours, then cutting bodywork slightly bigger to allow for movement?

Thirdly
A spoiler
Should i bother? again i love the mk2 s spoiler but is it going to look crap with standard mk1 rear lights? I know some hate this big spoiler but i like it (and i'm from essex too so its par for the course round here hehe )

So given that you've got a mk1 tuscan having work done what would you do?

I'd rather spend less than more but if it makes things better then so be it.

I think you should go with whatever you want, the front sidelight deletion sounds good and could be one for me to bookmark for when I get the front resprayed on mine. As for the rear lights, I prefer them on the non S Mk1 and if I was to put a spolier on the rear it would be the smaller Mk 2 one. Whatever you decide, will you be at Chatsworth to show it off?

Thanks macey

Problem is that when i look at various pictures of tuscans i hate some and love others. I think the natural shape of the tuscan may mean the colour of the car really makes the difference to looks.

Sometimes i like the mk1 rear lights the most and then others its the mk2 rear with the big spoiler.

I think i'm inclined to stick with standard rear end and maybe spend the money getting some nice fixed back buckets but am so unsure.

I'll have a look at chatsworth and see if its possible, i'd definately like to get to a few events this year.

Go for the side light removal, if any part of the Tuscan shows its age it has to be these.

Obviously just my opinion, but was on the subject of these myself to get removed when the front ends re sprayed.

The side lights actually look quite good once you replace the bulbs with LEDs, together with HID's the overall look is a lot more modern.
