Front indicator change, Orange to clear.

Anyone done the conversion?
I've got my shiny new clear ones to replace the big orange jobbies.
Before I pop out to the garage and start pulling things apart, any tips or heads up as to what needs to be done?
Changing the side repeaters took all of 2 minutes, somehow I think the main indicators may take a few minutes more!

Some people use a block of wood with a cloth on the end, sadly you will break the old ones. I managed to pop mine out using the palm of my hand, it will take a bit of force to break the seal but they will come out!

Racetech. £105 for the pair. Having looked for the past month or so, they're like rocking horse poo to get hold of, so I just went for them.

£105! Wow. Had no idea they cost that much. Luckily my car came with them, because without a doubt I would want them as they look so much better than the originals.

They used to be 60 quid each when they first starting using them.

You may be lucky as my original indicators weren't very well glued in.

My white indicators have LAP Elec MK 3 embossed on them. They have a website with a phone number

Alternatively you could use many 80mm reversing lights or 80mm fog lights with a lower wattage bulb, Cibie do one that looks like it would fit for £37 ex VAT Cibie light

I used standard reversing lamps with orange bulbs from ebay £10ea from memory, the only problem is the opening is a little bigger so I had to make some adapters. In hindsight I should have used the originals, but they look ok. Might make some better ones if I get a lathe.

TVR used to use (iirc) Griff reversing lenses when they ran out of the indicator units.
