I've just been told that the fuel hose on my Mk1 is badly perished and needs replacing (MOT failure). How easy is this to replace and can it be done using just axel stands to prop the car up?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

busy day so only just getting back on line!

with the vehicle on the ramp, the mechanic pointed to a hose from the petrol tank to (i assume) the fuel pump located near the rear nearside wheel. It was perished at the fuel pump end.

A belated thanks RobertJP - I note your advice is from personal experience! Did you have the vehicle on axel stands? I'm tempted to get some anyway so that I can treat inside the wheel arches with underbody sealant as they are showing signs of flaking.

great, thanks. I assume like most jobs on the Tuscan I will need arms the length of Mr Tickle and hands the size of a small child - the Blackpool workplace must have been an interesting sight.
