new tuscan advice needed
Discussion
hi all,
cant get it out of my system!
im going to be buying my first tuscan (well tvr for that matter)
ive debated about it for best part of 5 years
it has now come to the point that within the next 2 weeks im getting one, dont think i have another option
i was seriously debating the purple tamora on here at 15k, very nice car but think only a tuscan is going settle me
got a few tuscans in mind, ive about 20k to spend and ideally wanted a 2003 model upwards
one in particular i like alot but milage and no rebuild put me off, any thoughts on this ? its the blue 03 plate one on here at 15k
should i be looking for one thats had a rebuild or would you say some cope fine without?
also any view on tamora rather than a tuscan?
im not a fan of all tamoras but the one previously mentioned does look very well, its mainly the 3.6 factor that puts me off, for no apparent reason
all advice welcome and appriciated
john

Hi, my experiences before buying my Tuscan are as follows:
Tamora was a better steer but the looks and reduced practicality steered me to the Tuscan.
3.6 engine is a peach, I never feel it's underpowered in the Tuscan and they get very close to their 350bhp on dynos, a lot of 4 litres don't meet their promised higher output. In fact when testing several different cars I couldn't tell the difference in performance between the two.
20k will get you the very best mk1 Tuscan and maybe a higher mileage mk2.
Good luck and enjoy the search.

If its the 53 plate one, it was sold on ebay a few weeks ago for £11,301.00 so its either got an issue or someone is trying to make a fast buck?should i be looking for one thats had a rebuild or would you say some cope fine without?

yeah thats what i figured i quess like a few others we all know price it went for and with price in mind would justify a rebuild and to say hes had it 3 weeks without any work begs the question why anyone would pay more than 13 as he got it cheap and you cant begrudge that he would make a tiny profit, but with milage and no rebuild would it be considerable?
