Hi,
I am about to retrim the Tuscan with a new carpet set. To do it right, i also want to replace the carpet that is in the dashboard (left an right of the radio, where you can put stuff).
Does anyone know how to remove this part of the dashboard (i found the thread about the dashboard top, but search functionality is not working at the moment).

Thanks!

Maurice.

I got it from Lakewell.com (Belgium).
I tried to get the dashboard off today, but i gave up. The steering column (and cables) go through it. Seems like a hell of a job to get it out.
Any tips/hints are welcome.

You need to undo all bolts then make a cut (yes a cut) around the rack area of the shelf, I think I took out about 1.5"

Then jiggle it about and it will come out.

It's either that or remove the whole rack assembly.....

Thanks M3jappa. I managed to get it out.
Top part of the dash was easy. Just two screws.
The bottom part was a lot harder. While looking at it, i might have cursed at you 'how i am supposed to cut a piece out in that spot'... But i managed in the end. Mostly by using pruning shears to cut through the fibreglass...
(now to get it back in...)

While working on the car, i found what seems like a Motorola car tracking system. I removed it, because i don't expect i will be able to get it up and running again.
