Opinions on selling
Discussion
Hi all
The Tuscan, for various reasons is going up for sale.
What is the opinion on:
a. Sell it "warts & all" for a very attractive (to seller) price?
b. Get the niggles done and sell it for an average price?
Niggles at the moment are paint not great, electrics amusing at times and I bloody bent the exhaust a few weeks ago reversing into an high curb.
Cosmetically she is not great (not bad either) mechanically very good, with a lot of money (ouch) donated to Str8six over the last 12 months.
Newish clutch and bottem end rebuild in last 7 months, geo'd. hid.
A straight car which I am thinking of asking @11.5k with niggles, is this realistic?

Noooo! What are moving onto?
Haven't seen your car for a while but 11.5 sounds too cheap if it's had recent engine work/ clutch etc.
What's wrong with the paintwork? If it's just stonechips then I wouldn't spend any on it, maybe a couple of hundred getting it machine polished?
The thing which would put me off as a buyer is the unknown's.
Electrical gremlins, if still present will put people off though as it's an unknown potential bill etc, so I would probably get them sorted.
Gimme a bell if u want a quick machine polish done (not professional standard though!) although Macey's bonnet worked well.
Speaking of which... Maybe steve would buy it off you just so he gets "spotted" a bit more?

depends on miles and warranty.
I was prepared to pay 15~K for a higher milage (55K) tuscazn with warranty.
In the end I picked one up for quite a bit more, but in my ideal spec.
11.5 with warranty, even with 100K is quite low IMO.
What's your spec, I'll price it for you, I spent the last 3 months looking at prices daily

would agree that 11.5 is too low for a car with the mechanicals fairly sorted, i would put it up around the 15k mark myself.
Be a shame to sell though
As regards the rest of the work...ask yourself if your costs to do the work will be made back if you do sell, if not then price accordingly. From my experience you rarely make your money back....especially on a TVR!!
