Planning to go to France within 2 weeks. My MK1 is decatted with CCCs. I still got my half- sleeved original cans in the garage.

I love the CCCs but wondering if not better swapping them for the trip to avoid problems with the police in France? With the CCCs on, I should get well above 120 db.

Anyone has any experience in driving abroad with that set-up? Any trouble with the police, in particular?

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, cops from my experience tend to avoid stopping foreigners because they don't speak English :/) as far as noise levels, they tend to stop 'tuned' cars and scooters more then true exotic cars.

So you should be fine IMO

Cheers lads, "Voulez- vous- CCC" it is,then. Appreciate your comments!

BTW, got a set of Nitrons fitted yesterday, along with a geo set up. 1 hours drive back from PPC to Peterborough... Surprisingly boring; missed my usual tramlining, somehow. Drove with 1 hand at the steering wheel... OMG what a change.

My Tuscan is defatted and has Powertech which are the same as CCC's.
I drove down to Spain last year Spending 5 days in Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
Unfortunately the ECU burned out just north of Toulouse on the way home.
No problems with the noise, only smiles and thumbs up.
Had a similar great improvement from changing shocks and having geo set up at the same time. Money well spent.
