Re-packing carbon cans.. guide?

I've decided to sell my ACT cans and instead rebuild my CCC's but with some wadding material. The ACT's are great but the 4.3 has changed the character of the engine note (made it deeper), and combined with the ACT's that I got made specifically to make a very deep throaty sound, it's a bit much for my father in law who shares the car!

Has anyone here rebuilt their own carbon cans? If so, any tips on what material/supplier for the packing material? Are there different weights/density which will affect the sound?

Oh, and how do the cans come apart. I can only really see some spot welds on the inside of the end cones?

are you selling the ccc's by any chance (I am interested iff they are the carbon covered version that look like the original ones) ?
