I've always preferred a softer ride and found my previous inherited setup to be too firm.

I asked John at SussexTVRto do some adjustments last week - I think it's now set to 2 clicks soft.

I have to say, it's made the Tuscan immensely more enjoyable to drive IMHO. Far less twitchy (in fact not twitchy at all), it used to be more like a go-kart.

It got me thinking why the general trend towards having TVR's with a rock solid setup - Anyone else prefer a softer setup - or is it just me?

I got Gaz Gold Pro's last year, and the set-up initially was much firmer than the original Bilsteins. It was glorous on smooth roads, the only problem is that there are no roads left in Edinburgh, only lanes of pot-holes and cobbles.

3-clicks towards soft for me all round has made a much softer ride bearable ride around town, and I agree it is much less twitchy coming off roundabout in the wet.

Do you have the same front and rear? I take it when you say 2 clicks (or 3) soft, you mean from the lowest it will go? I think I've got mine set to about 4 or 5 clicks but might try it a bit softer - I think I have about 20 clicks in all (or thereabouts), so I'd hate to see whats it's like on full whack eek

I have them set at "6 from minus" - Possibly a fraction springy on the back so may try the rear at 7 from minus.

I think mine was originally set in the middle - Approx 10/11 clicks from both +/- So I guess mine was set fairly hard then. At full whack... I shudder to think!! - getmecoat

I meant 3 clicks towards soft from the middle setting.

Can't remember how many there is - can anyone remind me? Is it 13?

I am with you softer is much better and less skittish particularly on poor road surfaces. I my case with my Cerb on Nitrons mine is only set 8 out of 20 clicks front and 7 on the rears. My Chim was on Gaz nickles and it felt very skittish i had it way to hard.
