Hi,

after washing my Tuscan, the Dashboard shows permanently "EFI Fault - Oil pressure 0 PSI"
i check the connector in the engine bay at the Oil pressure sensor, but it seems OK.
Sometimes the EFI Fault disappear for a second and shows normal readings.

can anybody tell me, what connector i have to check?...i replace the oil pressure sensor last year after some leaking. The Sensor is brand new!

HELP!

Hi,
This is not an uncommon problem after washing / heavy rain. Sometimes a good run out (30 mins) can clear it.
If it persists the only surefire way of tracking it down is to get your local TVR guy to plug his laptop in.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Me again,

the EFI Fault is still there. I try the Diagnostic Software and reset all faults..no result. If there is a problem with the wiring of the oil pressure sensor..the dash must show 150 or 170psi...the Oil warning light show no error.

the oil pressure is ok, the engine is running and everything is fine...the engine is dry, and i do a 1 hour test run.

anybody a clou what cable, sensor to check ?!

if i start the engine, the dash shows "EFI fault oil pressure 0 psi" and i hear the warning signal.

HELP!

Hi Dave,

I do not understand why the Air Temperatur Sensor at the Airbox is responsible for a Oil pressure fault?! Hmmm...
But i have no better idea..so i give it a try

in addition to that i check the whole circuit.

Hi Forum Members,

if you habe a EFI Fault "oil pressure 0 psi" and you habe no clue what is wrong...try reconnect the Air Temp sensor at the airbox...Problem solved!

thanks Dave for the tip!

Hi. I have the same problem. Will i need a laptop to reset or can I just unplug and reconnect the sensor? I guess I will have to remove the bonnet? Thanks.

Hi Adam,

yes, Bonnet off.
I reconnect the Air Sensor at the top off the airbox..then start engine..and no more EFI Fault in the Dash. In my case I need no Laptop, but it could be necessary..because i try everything including the Tuscan Diagnostic Software at the beginning of my EFI Fault Journey..so maybe "yes"

if the problem is still there, check your Oil Pressure Sender and the wiring.

Tried connect the air temp sensor but still got the same problem. There is an unplugged 4 prong female connector lying near the fuel rail, it is marked stepper, should this be connected?

Thanks

Nope, from original loom not used on the TVR, just tuck it away.

Hi Adam,

Stepper connector?...uh..no idea. Maybe somebody else can answer that.

"EFI Fault Oil Pressure 0 PSI" :

if its a electic problem..the oil warning light at the dash stay "off" after starting the engine! If the oil light stays "on", a run of the engine can cause in a engine failure!

1.) try unplug/plug the airboxsensor
2.) try reset all faults with the Diagnostic Software, and try 1.) again
3.) use a multimeter to check if you have 12V at your oil Pressure switch (start your engine, or only deactivate the immobiliser (turn key)!!)
4.) try a new Oil pressure switch
5.) check if you have oil pressure..using a manometer and screw it into the 1/8" inlet of the oil pressure sensor. if you have no pressure check OIL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE and the oil pump.

that is what i check..and it works for me.

good luck

Martin
