Just fitted new brake pads... but when refitting the top bolt, it pushed out the complete thread from inside the caliper bore. Of cause, it is impossible to screw that thread back in.... so I'm kind of lost now and not sure what to do!? frown
Can't also believe, that this is the original design of the thread and bore!?
I first thought, using a slightly longer bolt and just tightening it with a nyloc nut might do it.... but the bore, where the thread was in, is slightly bigger than the bolt itself... so not sure if this is a good decision. Maybe someone here knows a good solotion!? Check pics for more details....

it looks like that you have unscrewed a thread insert!
You can buy a new insert and you local garage and they can fit it for you
(You need a special tool for mounting!)

No big problem for my understanding
Next time use a bit copper paste when putting screw in!

Yup, looks like you've unscrewed a helicoil. You can buy a set of the correct size, M8, M10 or whatever they are. Easy to fit , just screw in and break off the tab. The special tool comes as part of the kit.

Thanks for your help. Just got the HeliCoils but had to build the fitting tool myself.... easy stuff though. Was a matter of minutes to build it and insert the new HeliCoil. All like new now. smile
