I hope someone can help. Should a Factory Red Rose have Aircon or is it possible some left the factory without? Are there different controls for ones with and without?

Thanks!

Press the temperature knob.
Blue light will come on and you should hear the aircon compressor kick in (if you have one).
Just don't expect to feel much of a change in temperature ;-)

Ac was an option on the red rose. The blue light will come on if it is fitted or not! Only way of checking is to pop the bonnet off and check for ac pump. You should also be able to hear it click on with the engine running at idle and notice a 100rpm drop in the revs. It also does work pretty well in my experience.

To be honest with the age of these cars and the history, not withstanding the fact that it was pot luck what got fitted due to supply issues the only way to check is to look for the compressor or try to hear it.

Thanks Guys. Just considering getting one without Aircon I always said I wanted it but as I will only be driving in dry weather I can just take the top off.

Not true. The Swordfish Tuscan was originally a Red Rose, and it does NOT have airco...
