Cabin temp with roof off
Discussion
Now I know these engines run really hot, but at slow speeds, or sat in traffic with the roof down, I just seem to get all of the hot air from the engine blowing into the cabin making it uncomfortably warm, especially in this weather. It's not coming from the air vents but around either side of the windscreen as the fans kick in to cool the engine down.
The car has air con but obviously with the roof off, windows down and rear screen out it doesn't really have much impact on cooling me down. Is this 'normal'?

I've also noticed that the gearknob and handbrake get much hotter with the roof off - I've decided it is because the hot air around the exhausts is being drawn up through the holes in the transmission tunnel where they come through. Makes sense as the cabin will be at lower pressure.

That's because the rubber gaiter (beneath the leather one) on the gearstick has perished so has holes in it letting hot air blow up.Replace the rubber gaiter and you'll find the gearstick (and cabin) stays is a whole lot cooler.

Dont know what you're moaning about magpie
Having a Tuscan do that is the equivalent, in my weird head, of being on the back of a dragon. Its speed and fury are intoxicating, but you do get the occasional snort of flame from the hot air it breathes. Goes with the territory, and the car is all the more special for leaving these visceral things untouched.
