Battery isolator

OK I am typing this whilst partially deaf.
I thought I would try out the battery isolator fitted to the Tuscan I have had for a month or so. Prepared for the winter lay up, make sure it works, that sort of logic.
So the car is unlocked, alarm off, immobilser on (but thats harmless).
So I stick my hand under service bonnet and twist the lever.
Try the door release button...nothing, the electrics are dead, great.
Switch the isolator back on and try the door again...nothing....not great.
Maybe I need a better view of things, open the service bonnet and switch the isolator off then on again, and.....
The alarm goes off (Jeez those things are loud when you have your head in the service area).
Lots of frantic key fob button pushing and it eventually shuts up.
Large audience of less than impressed neighbours has gathered so I abandon any further attempts to use the isolator.
So why did the alarm go off? It was not armed before the switch off. If the Meta system re-boots after a power down will it automatically check for door/bonnet open?
All I want to do is swittch the battery off for long lay ups and back on again when needed.

I disconnected my battery for some work and when I re connected it set itself. The doors were not locked so I got in and the alarm went off. I used the flipper to turn it off and ok since then.
My Chim used to do the same.
I don't think there is a switch on the service bonnet though .

I guess it just gets baffled by a battery disconnect. I will try it again at work tomorrow when I am miles from civilisation!
Out of interest would disconnecting the battery for a while re-set the ECU like many other mass produced cars? I have built up some lumpy engine idling and other occasional rough running after being stuck in slow traffic that would suggest that it is running rich. I would like to put the ECU back to default if such a thing exists on TVR's.

As I understand it the Tuscan ECU does not reset with battery disconnected. The Chim one does. You might need to reset the throttles and the adaptive.

I have just ordered a carb air meter and I am going to balance my carbs and then via software reset.
Give me a week or so to work out how to do it and then come over and we can do yours and connect up to the finally working software.

Put in there as i was going to fit a short cable and pull shut down handle on the scuttle but since i fitted the Audi boot hinges on my bonnet i can open it in quite quickly
pull cable would be nice for track days and sprinting, but that a dream at the 109db present exhaust system
