Tuscan S Questions
Discussion
Evening all,
Just bought a Mk1 Tuscan S and have a few jobs which need done, could anyone advise on the following -
1, How do you remove the leather gear stick and handbrake gaitors.
2, Roof release - the retaining pins do not retract far enough leaving the roof hard to remove/refit, the adjustment in the boot seems to be on maximum - are these cables prone to stretching or is there something else that could cause the problem?
3, what is the standard rpm setting for the gear change lights? anyone set them a bit lower and is so what setting?
Thanks in advance
Richard

1. You need to remove the centre console. Then remove the gearknob and handbrake handle. The gaitors are attached to the piece of carpet under the centre console. You need to lift this over the gearstick and handbrake.
2. Not sure
3. 6,000 RPM - Green
6,500 RPM - Amber
7,000 RPM - Red
You can adjust them using the on screen menu. I have stuck with the standard settings.

2. I have a Mk2 S, so it might not be the same, but the fixings that the roof pins go into on the roof panel itself are fitted with slotted fastenings, so you can move them to and fro for additional adjustment.
I really need to do mine, as the offside isn't *quite* latching properly into place, causing the roof to lift off on one side due to the venturi effect of the airflow over it, at >100mph on a bumpy straight whilst overtaking the other day! I had to drop the window and hold it down with my hand until I could find a safe place to stop...
