Hi guys - my TVR is still giving me an annoying beeping sound every 30 seconds while either powered on or the engine is running. Only fault code I get is a brief code O when I briefly turn the electrics on and then nothing when running. I've checked all fluid levels are tip top!

Being a new TVR owner I've not found a local garage I trust with it yet and as i don't want to risk being ripped off I wondered if I bought a diagnostics cable if it would tell me why it is giving the warning - thus letting me know how much it'll cost to fix/if there is actually much wrong before I head to a TVR garage!

As they go for £40 and I work as a teacher so I'm not loaded =p I don't want to buy it unless it'll be useful! (but happy to if it is).

I live in Ash/Aldershot area if anyone happens to live nearish with a cable I might be able to pop round to see what's up! wink

Thanks for your input guys - also for any thoughts of what the warning could be for that I should check =)

Cheers!

Darren

Thanks guys - very kind. I spoke with Ian as you recommended - lovely and helpful guy - from speaking to him we've worked out it can't be a problem with the car itself as the beep is not the tuscan warning one (that you can set the volume for) and instead must be related to the radio. Sods law it is doing it intermittently so will probably be a pain to track down - but as long as I know it isn't something wrong with the engine etc. then I can stop worrying =)

Not going to bother with the diagnostics cable then for now =) Instead will spend the money on a leather touch up/repair kit and sort that instead over christmas ready for respray early next year =)

You must have a pioneer head unit. Mine used to do that randomly, I think it was related to the radio reception which was terrible of course as the aerial is in the front wing. I have a different head unit fitted. now. Just find the manual for the head unit online and you might be able to adjust a setting. Actually if its doing it when you turn the ignition off it could be the reminder to remove the faceplate.
